what is A cricut easypress?

The Cricut EasyPress is a heat tool designed specifically for adding iron-on materials to your creative projects. It gives you professional iron-on results in 60 seconds or less.

You can use a Cricut EasyPress to iron designs onto shirts, bags, pillows, banners, shoes, hats, blankets, and much more.

Unlike a conventional iron, the EasyPress applies even, consistent pressure. Its digital control panel gives you full control over the temperature settings and includes a handy timer. Those settings really take the guesswork out of iron-on projects!

  • It heats up fast! The EasyPress 2 can heat all the way up to 400 degrees in less than 3 minutes.
  • Its ceramic-coated heat plate is more advanced than the original EasyPress which means even heat with just a +/- 5-degree variance.
  • It comes in 3 sizes to fit projects ranging from petite to XL.
  • Includes a rubber base to protect your work surface.

What is the difference between the EasyPress 2 and standard irons?

The EasyPress 2 is specifically designed to create professional iron-on projects at home. The ability to control the exact temperature settings and apply consistent heat over your entire project are two things you just cannot replicate with a conventional household iron.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE EASYPRESS 2 AND HEAT PRESSES?

Another alternative to the EasyPress 2 is a heat press. Cricut has busted the myth that you need tons of pressure to apply iron-on materials which means you really don't need a big heat press. The EasyPress 2 delivers the even heat you need for lasting results. Plus, heat presses are big and bulky while the EasyPress 2 is much easier to store and transport.

Which size of EasyPress 2 is right for me?

The EasyPress 2 comes in 3 sizes. They all work the same but their sizes make them ideal for different types of projects.

A couple things to consider when choosing an EasyPress are:

  • What size of project do you make most often?
    • Using a very large EasyPress 2 on a very small project can be awkward.
    • Using an EasyPress 2 that is smaller than your project means you will need to make multiple presses which can over-process the iron-on material if you're not careful.
  • Will you travel with your EasyPress 2?
    • The smallest EasyPress 2 makes a great travel companion! It is lightweight and easily fits in a bag. Larger sizes can also travel but are obviously bulkier.

What temperature should I use for my IRON-ON PROJECT?

The Cricut EasyPress Recommended Settings page has everything you need! Select your iron-on material and base material and this resource page will give you the temperature and time your project requires. It also tells you if you should do a warm peel or cold peel.

How long does iron-on last?

The Cricut team does extensive testing to ensure their iron-on materials are long-lasting. Many of their iron-on materials include the StrongBond™ Guarantee. This means that when Cricut iron-on is used as directed, you'll be completely satisfied with the results. If not, they will replace it for free.

Do I need an EasyPress 2?

I know what you're thinking…is the EasyPress 2 really a MUST?

And the honest answer is no, it's definitely not a requirement.

But will you wonder how you ever crafted without one as soon as you try it? Absolutely!

You can easily continue using a conventional iron for your iron-on projects. But if you plan to continue to craft with this material, I think the EasyPress 2 is worth adding to your wish list. It's not the cheapest crafting tool out there, but it's certainly one you will reach for often which I think makes it worth the investment!

Like I pointed out earlier, the EasyPress 2 gives off even heat and it's so nice to have the digital controls so you can set the exact temperature and time as recommend by Cricut. This will give you the most flawless, long-lasting iron-on project that is backed by Cricut's StrongBond™ Guarantee.
